About the event

In this workshop, we will explore how to turn LGBTQ+ data into reporting that is accurate, thoughtful and community-informed. Building on December’s training about finding data on LGBTQ+ communities, this session focuses on the next essential step: using that information with care, nuance and cultural humility.

From numbers to understanding

Data can reveal patterns and point to emerging stories. Yet it never captures the full reality of a community. Learn how to recognize what the data shows, what it leaves out and how to approach reporting with awareness of identity complexity and lived experience.

Reporting across differences

If you are not part of the LGBTQ+ community, your work comes with added responsibilities. Explore practical techniques for conveying accuracy without overreaching, asking better questions and avoiding assumptions. Learn how to make space for perspectives that may challenge your own and how to earn trust without expecting agreement from everyone you speak…
